The Glen Rock Panthers, led by Varsity Head Coach Tracy Trobiano, are still undefeated. They went 10-0 in the regular season, and then beat Holy Angels, by a score of 4-0, in the first round of the tournament. Glen Rock received the #4 seed in the tournament, which gave the team a lot of confidence since there are a total of 32 teams participating.

When I asked the Varsity assistant coach, Christopher Fox, about the team he said, “We are a well-rounded team because of our experience.” Glen Rock has many returning varsity starters from last year, which will help propel the Panthers to victory on the pitch. One of those players is the captain, Sophie Lederer, who will attend Colgate University next year. She is one of five Panthers intending to play soccer at college next year.

Coach Fox notes that “every team is competitive” but to start off the season 10-0 and then get a shutout, multi-goal win in the tournament opener – well, that’s got to boost the Panther morale.

The Panthers squared off against Old Tappan on Sunday, who entered the tournament as the number 13 seed. They came up with a victorious 3-1 win on October 7th.  They followed this up with the defeats of Eastern Christian on the 12th of October and River Dell just two days later.  The Glen Rock Panthers are now 14-0.

We look forward to seeing Coach Trobiano’s Panthers on the field again soon, matching up with Pompton Lakes on 10/16 at 4 p.m.
