Glen Rock High School’s DECA Chapter celebrates an evening of success

Glen Rock DECA, Nov. 30, 2023 – Glen Rock High School proudly recognizes the enduring legacy of its esteemed DECA Chapter, a pioneering club that has stood the test of time. DECA, a non-profit organization dedicated to “preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management” continues to be a source of pride for the Glen Rock community.

With a rich history of sending ambitious high school students to prestigious competitions, including the New Jersey state competition, SCDC, and the international DECA Competition, ICDC, Glen Rock High School’s DECA Chapter remains a powerhouse of talent and dedication.

In a philanthropic endeavor on Nov. 15, 2023, the DECA Chapter hosted a highly successful campaign, Babysitting Night, raising an impressive $900 for OASIS. This non-profit organization focuses on providing support for women entering and succeeding in the business workforce while ensuring children flourish academically. The event showcased the DECA members’ prowess in planning, coordination, and organization as they seamlessly integrated key business concepts into the evening’s activities.

DECA members demonstrated their leadership abilities by taking the initiative to delegate tasks and communicate effectively with the school to secure necessary resources. The success of this event underscores the commitment of DECA members to learning and applying essential skills that go beyond the classroom.

As DECA Districts rapidly approach, members are diligently preparing for the competition by engaging in weekly testing practices. The Glen Rock High School DECA Chapter wishes all its competitors the best of luck and looks forward to a season filled with growth, achievement, and continued success.
