Girls tennis match rained out

The Girls Tennis home match against Eastern Christian was rained out on Sept.14. Both teams did show up, but the court got too wet for any games to begin. After a few warms-ups, both teams decided to leave.

This was the second game this season to be rained out. The game was rescheduled for the next day, Sept. 15.

“We have to stop tennis matches in the rain. We can’t play,” said Coach Bonnie Zimmermann. “The ball gets wet and doesn’t bounce. The court is dangerous and slippery. You never play tennis in a rain situation.”

Many of the players from Glen Rock and Eastern Christian know one another from summer camps and various other activities.

“We all want our kids to play the best they can,” Couch Zimmerman said.
