The Glen Rock girl’s volleyball team won its match against Lodi on Friday, September 15. This makes their current record 2-1.

The team, led by captains Jen Szawaluk, Elvira Makk Frid, and Alex Long, along with seniors Emily Podd, Maddie Hay, Laura Yuan, Gia Nuzzolo, won its first game with a score of 25-9.       .

The second set had a similar outcome and the girls worked together to pull out a win of 25-10. Makk Frid said that the team started out with “low energy.” That quickly changed, however. “We picked it up and our attitudes got better, and we played more cohesively,” she said.

After the win, Podd said, “We’ve been working very hard in practice, we’ve been getting our swings in, our serving was good, and our passing was much better.”

“I think we have a great team this year,” she added.

Make sure to catch the varsity team at its game on Oct. 5 against Rutherford.
