The Media Center has changed its late night hours to Mondays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Last year, late hour days were Tuesdays and Thursdays, but based on Board of Education meetings, the days were changed to Mondays and Thursdays.

Having the Media Center open at night allows for busy students to get together for group projects at a convenient time and space. With these late extra evening hours, the Media Center staff hopes to provide an easy solution to this problem.

“There were some requests for students to be able to have a place to go to work because you do a lot of group projects in school and you don’t have time to get together,” said Kim Hayes, the Media Center Specialist.

Aside from group projects, the Media Center also offers a quiet place for students to work.

According to junior Isabella Ranieri, these later evening hours provide a quiet and relaxing space to get work done.

Ranieri believes that the after-hour Media Center sessions will be helpful and is considering using them in the near future.

“Juggling school with soccer and other extra curriculars causes lots of stress. The later hours at the library seem very beneficial to do work in a quiet and peaceful setting and get work done faster,” Ranieri said. “I would definitely consider going around midterm and finals weeks.”
