Junior class students reviewed Homecoming behavior and attendance policies at their class meeting on Sept. 22.

Principal John Arlotta and Vice Principal Bacolas stressed that juniors need to mind their grades and attendance while having fun this year.

The administrators reviewed policies for upcoming school events, such as the pep rally, sporting events, and Homecoming.  Class advisers Mara Siegel and Brian Montalbano told the juniors that they would need to treat others with respect and support the student body.

In years past, many Seniors, Juniors and, Sophomore classes have chanted “Sit down Freshman” during the Pep Rally. The administration emphasized that this behavior is not to be tolerated at the pep rally this year.

Mrs. Siegel said that Homecoming theme this year will be the “Jet Set Juniors,” decided by vote. The first event is hallway decorating on Oct. 18.

She asked for as many possible volunteers to assist  the class officers with hall decorating.  In order to spark interest and get participation, a prom ticket will be awarded. A free prom bid was awarded to Lauren Massaro for her t-shirt design.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Guidance Counselor Laura Vargo introduced the “Ambassador Program,” which links up current students with new students during the first week of school. The program is running for the second year. For more information on this program, she asks interested students to speak to her in the Guidance Office.
