Having trouble deciding what are the most stylish and warm clothes for the cold winter months?

An important decision to finding the best outfit to wear is by keeping your choice of clothing comfy and cute.

A big part of a fashion designers job is to make their clothing practical and wanted by its consumers. What makes a piece of clothing practical? Some practical clothing would be if it fits the average size range of the consumer, the comfort of the piece of clothing, and to keep their pieces wanted by their consumers.

“My favorite winter piece of clothing to wear is the crewneck sweatshirt,” said Sondra Nieradka (’14).

What are the most essential ‘practical’ pieces of clothing to have in your wardrobe for the winter?

  • Cozy Sweaters
  • Skinny Jeans
  • Knee High Socks
  • Leg Warmers
  • Knee High Boots
  • Printed Scarves
  • Hunter Rain boots
  • Yoga Pants & Leggings
  • Headbands
  • Shoe Wedge

These few pieces have been seen around the school recently and are easily found in stores such as Nordstrom’s BP, Forever 21, Brandy Melville, Free People, Urban Outfitters, Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Urban Outfitters, Lululemon, and American Eagle Outfitters. These stores are all found in Garden State Plaza in Paramus.

“While working at Hollister I noticed that this season’s hottest trends are big sweaters and leggings, we sell a lot of those,” said senior and Hollister employee, Emily Park.

Staying warm, cozy, and comfortable is key in the cold winter months in Glen Rock, the tricky part is still being able to look cute while doing so. Stick to this guide this January, February, and March and you will stay on-point style wise.

“Winter provides the perfect platform to show your inner fashionista because you can layer as much clothing as you want,” Anna Lis (’14) said.
