Powder Puff Game
November 12, 2013
Get Tough, Ladies!
It’s time for our upperclassmen ladies to toughen up! The high school will be hosting its very first powder puff game, just in time for the holidays! “Powder puff is a tradition that a lot of other high schools around the country do that we wanted to bring to GRHS!” said student council member, Courtney Schmitt.
Junior and senior girls will be tackling, passing, and scoring on the football field on November 26th. Not only will the girls be challenging each other in a flag football game, but the football players will be cheering them on.
“I think it’ll be a great experience. It should be fun seeing how the girls perform. It’ll also be interesting cheering for them for a change, instead of them cheering for us,” said junior and football player Dan Frissora.
The football coaches will be the referees and the rest of the student body is encouraged to come and enjoy the game. It’s a great chance for the students as a whole to have a good time and get closer. Signups are still taking place. If you happen to be a junior or senior girl interested in this, you should definitely join in! “The cheerleaders and the student council both had the idea and so we combined efforts to actually make it happen,” said Courtney.
Signup sheets can be found in the senior hallway and there’s still plenty of room for anyone who wants to participate.
