Unified as a team before their big win, the boys soccer team would go on to win the first round of Counties in a shootout.

The Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team played Emerson on our home turf on October 10 and came out of the game with a victory.

John Hayden needed to step in for the starting goalie, Tim Hahn, for this game and did exactly what the team needed him to do — help them to a win.

It seemed like Glen Rock had the game wrapped up when the Panthers were winning 3-1, but Emerson made a late run and tied-up the game before the end of regulation.

Then, in Overtime, neither team could find the back of the net.

It all came down to penalty kicks: Senior Captain Jake McMahon boosted the Panthers’ morale by placing the ball in the bottom right corner of the net, right past the goalie. From there on it was smooth sailing as Garrett Rosen, Glen Rock Junior, knocked in a goal to seal the deal and send the Panthers’ to the next round of the County Tournament.
