Rocking the black-and-white look, these models help gear you up for spring.

It’s March, and spring is quickly approaching. It’s time for the annual spring trend report! This season, you’ll be more likely to recycle a few pieces from your winter closet, which definitely provides some quality usage. Here are some of the top upcoming spring trends of 2013:

. Black and white: This was a popular fall and winter trend that will be carried throughout the spring. It’s not the typical floral or pastel, but it is a super-sleek update. Try to combo in peplum tank tops or pants with a pattern or print.

. Stripes: Oh, how we all love the nautical look of stripes for spring. Stripes seem to never go out of style. Quarter sleeved striped tops, paired with white or neon shorts, is a nice look for spring.

. Leather: Leather on the spring runways surprised me. I had thought leather was mostly a winter-only look, but, in pastels, whites, and cream colors, leather looks extremely chic. A leather jacket is a great transition piece in spring when you need a light coat.

. Athletic-wear dresses: Sporty dresses are an easy look for this spring. They have been spotted on the runway in bold colors such as orange and color-blocking hues. Add a statement necklace for some drama.

. Sheer: It proved to be an extremely popular summer staple last year, and it is back this spring revealing itself in every clothing item imaginable (even skirts!). Try a printed sheer top with a bandeau under a lightweight blazer.
