It’s March, and spring is quickly approaching. It’s time for the annual spring trend report! This season, you’ll be more likely to recycle a few pieces from your winter closet, which definitely provides some quality usage. Here are some of the top upcoming spring trends of 2013:
. Black and white: This was a popular fall and winter trend that will be carried throughout the spring. It’s not the typical floral or pastel, but it is a super-sleek update. Try to combo in peplum tank tops or pants with a pattern or print.
. Stripes: Oh, how we all love the nautical look of stripes for spring. Stripes seem to never go out of style. Quarter sleeved striped tops, paired with white or neon shorts, is a nice look for spring.
. Leather: Leather on the spring runways surprised me. I had thought leather was mostly a winter-only look, but, in pastels, whites, and cream colors, leather looks extremely chic. A leather jacket is a great transition piece in spring when you need a light coat.
. Athletic-wear dresses: Sporty dresses are an easy look for this spring. They have been spotted on the runway in bold colors such as orange and color-blocking hues. Add a statement necklace for some drama.
. Sheer: It proved to be an extremely popular summer staple last year, and it is back this spring revealing itself in every clothing item imaginable (even skirts!). Try a printed sheer top with a bandeau under a lightweight blazer.
