Swift Changes: A Review of Red

November 7, 2012
Taylor Swift has been criticized for changing her sound every new album; Red is no exception. Swift has matured in her music and wants her fans to grow with her. “With this album, I really wanted to write with different people. I’m making my fourth album at this point, so it’s like, this is so important that I do not start to repeat myself,” Swift explained. “I don’t ever want to get into a comfortable groove and continue just coasting on that. I just always want to challenge myself and stretch further in different directions. It’s just fun to paint with more colors.” (MTV.com)
Red adds a new flavor to Taylor Swift’s usual country style of music, with new dance hits such as ‘Trouble’, ‘Red’, and ‘22’. ‘We are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ has been blaring from most teenagers’ cars for the past two months, blazoning its number one status on the Billboard charts for weeks. ‘Everything Has Changed’, a duet with Ed Sheeran is another fan favorite of the album. The lyrics of each song on Red are meticulously written and offer an insight into Taylor’s life and relationships. This fourth album is so powerful and unique, that it has converted skeptics to admirers. Yes, Swift’s genre of music is evolving, but so is she — as an artist.
I haven’t heard the album yet, but it sounds like it’s gunna be good!
i like how you used quotes from taylor swift and gave a mini description of the songs on the album
I’m excited to hear the new sound and the duet with Ed Sheeran!
It’s interesting how Taylor Swift music is evolving. I want to get her newest album.
sounds like a good album! i’ve only heard one of her songs from this album, but i’m so excited to hear other ones! 😀
I’m a guy and don’t know much about Swift’s music, but she seems like a really kind and genuine person and has handled some mean adversity with grace.
Thanks!
I have yet to listen to the whole album, but lately I’ve been loving Red, I Knew You Were Trouble, nd my favourite so far; Begin Again
