Glen Rock dominated the rushing game in their 41-7 win over Palisades Park-Leonia.

All points scored, aside from a fumble recovery that led to a touchdown by Senior defensive lineman Connor Kazanjian, were produced from rushing touchdowns in their bounce-back victory.

Junior quarterback Ty Scherer scored two rushing touchdowns in his first varsity victory under center. Freshman Hayden Yuzon found the end zone along with a touchdown apiece from senior halfbacks Michael Maurice and Greg Schlett.

Glen Rock entered the game 0-2. Scherer delivered the Panthers to their first win of the season in his second week at quarterback.

“We knew how big of a game this was and we followed the game plan and took care of business,” he said.

Junior lineman Ryan Burstiner said that the team “needed to get back on track and get the first win of the season, and we did just that.”

Glen Rock returns home next Friday for a matchup against Rutherford, who has won a state title in each of the previous two seasons. Rutherford comes into the game with a 2-1 record following a 42-20 loss to Garfield this week.
