“I Have a School Bus For A Left Arm But That Doesn’t Stop Me From Shredding This Sick Guitar Solo” is a band that solely exists for Glenstock, but they exist nonetheless.

The band consists of bassist Luke Blomstrom (‘18), guitarist Izzy Crawford (‘18), drummer Andy Perez (‘18), and second guitarist Drew Coll (‘17). Rather than having one set singer, Blomstrom, Crawford, and Coll alternate singing. The name of the band was just a random idea that popped into Blomstrom’s head that all the other members liked.

Around a month and a half ago Coll, Blomstrom and Crawford came together and started discussing the possibility of performing at Glenstock.

“It was Drew’s idea. He’s already in like four other bands but he was like, ‘Hey do you want to do something for Glenstock?’ and I agreed,” Blomstrom said.

After deciding they wanted to perform at Glenstock, the three asked Andy Perez to be the band’s drummer.

Since the band’s formation, the four have been rehearsing on an irregular basis.

However, according to Blomstrom rehearsals are still fun, “We spend a lot of time goofing off because sometimes not everyone is there or we don’t know our parts of the song super well.”

The band will be performing three songs: Seventeen by Stone Cold Fox, The Middle by Jimmy Eat World, and Re-Done by Modern Baseball.

“We initially wanted to do one very long Pink Floyd song but then decided against doing that because we thought it would probably make people angry,” Coll said.

Most of the members of the band have had a previous musical background. Crawford began playing guitar seven years ago. Blomstrom has been playing piano for seven years and also has been playing bass for a little over a year. Perez has been playing drums for five years.

Coll has prior experience with Glenstock, performing twice in the past two years.

“I performed once two years ago and I was in two performances last year,” Coll said.

This year Coll will be in three performances including in addition to “I Have A School Bus…”. Coll will also be performing in another band named “Uh Oh Marty” with Harrison Gale and Blomstrom. The third band has a line-up that is unbeknownst to Coll. The remaining members of “I Have A School Bus…” are all first time performers.

“We don’t really know what we’re doing but it should be fun,” Blomstrom said.

Although “I Have A School Bus…” will only play at Glenstock, all the members hope to get back together and play more music if need be.
