The cheerleading competition that was scheduled for Nov. 21 has been canceled due to the football team’s second playoff-game.

“Our support for the football team comes first,” said Ms. Alyssa Perry, who has been the coach for the cheerleading team for three years. She said that the team is “disappointed” that they cannot compete.

Though the Nov. 21 competition has been cancelled, the cheerleaders will compete in a Dec. 6 event regardless of the outcome of the football game.

The December competition will be the first for many cheerleaders this season, as the November one was cancelled. The cheerleaders were not able to compete in previous competitions due to a lack of students.

“We have had a lot of injuries and people away on trips,” Perry said.
