It is a striking time for the Glen Rock High School bowling team who have just welcomed Ms. Amanda Sproviero as a new volunteer coach.

Sproviero teaches Algebra and Geometry at Glen Rock High School.

Sproviero recently volunteered to assist the team, which is being coached by Mrs. Bonnie Zimmermann who teaches Physical Education and Health.

This is Sproviero’s first year as a Glen Rock High School sports team coach. She does have experience with running a school team, however, because she’s on the committee of the school’s Relay for Life team.

As a volunteer she will not get paid, Sproviero volunteered her time because she enjoys the sport and wants to get involved. “I did bowling in college and I do bowling leagues with my friends and with my brothers.” Sproviero said.

The Bowling team practices at The Brunswick Zone in Fair Lawn and the matches take place at Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park.

Sproviero’s has won many awards in her league, including Top High Series, which is awarded to the person with the highest score combined in three consecutive games and the highest scores in a game.

Sproviero would like to officially become an assistant coach if she gets the opportunity.
