Top 5 phone apps from 2014
January 21, 2015
Since the invention of the smartphone, apps have been created simultaneously to provide easy access to entertainment and daily life needs. As the years go by certain apps have surpassed others in popularity. The following is a list of five apps that I believe are on the top of the rank from 2014.
#5. Vine
I chose Vine as #5 because although the seven second videos are extremely entertaining, recently Vines have become means for companies and users to advertise their products. This makes it hard for me to enjoy the funny Vines. I think that many of the users who create Vines are very relatable. Overall, Vine is a good app. I would tell many of my friends to download, and it makes me laugh on numerous occasions.
#4. YouTube
A classic app to have on your phone, YouTube allows you to watch videos of any kind. Currently, the most popular types of videos are comedy, beauty, vlogging and gaming. YouTube has allowed people of all ages to start a career and gain fans in the form of subscribers. A good source of entertainment, YouTube resides as a personal favorite.
#3. Snapchat
Snapchat is a mobile conversation app that allows people to converse by capturing photos and videos. For many people, as well as myself, Snapchat is a great way to talk to your friends. Recently Snapchat has introduced a new feature, Snapcash. Snapcash allows users to send money through Snapchat with the help of a person’s debit or credit card. Personally, I think this feature is unnecessary but everything else about Snapchat is decent.
#2. Tumblr
Tumblr is a social networking site where users can post photos, videos, quotes, chats, links and text posts. Users can also like, reply and reblog posts. Currently there are around 30 – 50 million active users. Tumblr users gain popularity when gaining followers. Originally a website, the Tumblr app allows users to view their blogs on the go. Both the app and website are one my favorite ways to spend time on the internet.
#1. Trivia Crack
With its newfound popularity, many people have started playing this fun trivia game. Trivia Crack allows users to compete against their friends and other users. You answer questions from categories such as Entertainment, Sports, Geography, Art, History, and Science. I think Trivia Crack is a fun game and its new popularity has made it well known by many people.
