Anna McAuley is a Senior at Glen Rock High School, and has been described by students as one of the most effortlessly fashionable people since Freshman year. Who hasn’t adored Anna’s relaxed style?“I like to dress up, and dress nicely. I care about my appearance,” Anna explained after I noted she was one of the only people to put effort into her look during the weeks off due to Hurricane Sandy. The person who has most influenced her style throughout the years is her mom. “She made me a shopaholic,” she said.
When I asked Anna if her style has evolved over the years, she responded: “I used to wear just sweatshirts in sixth grade, and then I became preppy in eighth, and it changed throughout high school, since now I incorporate different styles. Who is her favorite celebrity trendsetter? “Definitely Lauren Conrad.”
Anna’s choice winter trend is flared jeans. She has already been spotted wearing them with gray colored, short, heeled boots, an orange cardigan layered over a black peplum tank top and a gold statement necklace. Her favorite places to shop are Anthropologie, J Crew, Loft, and Nordstrom.
Anna is not afraid to mix prints or try new trends either, she believes it is integral to be courageous in style choices. Her recent splurges were a red patent Kate Spade bag and Tory Burch flats. Besides being a fashionista, Anna likes to stay active on the cross-country team, and winter and spring track teams.
The best fashion-related advice she has ever received is to “not care what other people think. Be yourself.”
