On March 7 at 7:00 pm, members of the Glen Rock Spring Track team and Coach JP McCarten gathered at the Ridgewood Running Company for ‘Spike Night.’ This is an evening when members of the track team gather at the Ridgewood Running Company and receive a discount on anything in the store. It also provides an opportunity for team building.
The team met at the store and shared some pizza and laughs. The salespeople were helpful in finding everyone something that they were looking for. As the name of the event would suggest, different types of track spikes were what a lot of people were looking for.
Track spikes are light weight and help track athletes to run correctly and perform better: not only was this a fun night of team bonding, but also it was a chance to enhance the track team’s potential.
After finding a nice pair of spikes, senior distance runner Andrew Brennan exclaimed, “I’ve never worn distance spike before but I’m really looking forward to it, and I think they can give me an extra kick!”

Great article Kelly! Proper equipment is very important for running and everyone had a good time…that runner you quoted at the end seems like a really nice & cool guy too…
