Summer is just around the corner, and, for sophomore Victoria Messikian, that means shifting her closet to her stylish summer wardrobe.

Victoria only has three stores in her mind when she has to fill her closet with summer clothes.

“I love Zara’s. It’s literally the best store; I get everything [there]. Nordstrom, Bloomingdales… Bloomingdales is my favorite,” Messikian said.

The Zara’s in New York City is Victoria’s favorite, but there is also a more convenient location at the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ. The store carries everything from jewelry to shirts to scarves.

In the summer, Victoria’s go-to outfit is a maxi dress.

“I love maxi dresses. I find really cute ones at Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Zara’s.”

Victoria’s favorite summer accessory is a classic, yet fun scarf.

“Light scarves, like light colorful scarves, that you can wear with a t-shirt and shorts and just put a scarf on… and it will look so cute! I also love colorful necklaces.”

In the summer, Victoria tends to be more laid back with her clothes, “more comfortable.”

“I just like to put on a dress and sandals, it’s just easier to style and jewelry is always more fun in the summer,” Victoria said.

Victoria likes to keep things simple, wearing mostly neutral colors, and she adores brands such as Tori Burch, All Saints, and Vince Camuto.

However, some students dress differently out of school than they do in school, with more time to get ready. But Messikian is an exception.

“For school I dress pretty casual, I like to be comfortable, but I also like to look cute and together, so I love blazers and stuff like that,” she explained. “And just jeans and boots, and [I] always have my watch and bracelets on, because that just makes me feel more put together.”

Victoria’s fabulous style is also admired by her peers.

“I think that her style is very modern, and she’s a really good person to look to for fashion advice,” said Beth Keefe, a fellow sophomore.

And as for weekends, “Well it depends; if I’m going somewhere dressy then it’s dressy. But if I’m going to the mall then it’s just the same.”

Victoria’s favorite weekend outfit is her leather panst with her black Steve Madden heels, and her favorite white Zara long sleeve blouse. As for in school, her favorite outfit is just a pair of skinny jeans, boots, a blazer, and a scarf.

Victoria may be a fashion inspiration to the people at school, but believe it or not, it was actually the Kardashians who sparked her unique style.

“I just love the way Kourtney Kardashian dresses, and just all of them [the Kardashians]- they dress so cute,” said Messikian.

Victoria also gets inspired by looking through magazines.

“I’m obsessed with Vogue and Seventeen, not really [Seventeen] for style but it’s just fun to read.”
