Teachers fear the halls will remain empty with the elimination of the bells.

The halls of Glen Rock High School will be slightly less deafening as we reach the final marking period of the school year. The bells are being removed in preparation for the loss of bells in next year’s revised rolling block schedule.

“Today is the last school bell I’ll ever hear,” said Kelly Streaser (’14), reflecting upon the infamous loud buzz heard every forty-five minutes during the school day.

The lack of bells has some individuals concerned about arriving to class on time.

“I’m nervous for the change because I feel as though not all teachers keep their eye on the clock,” said Juliana Roddy (’16).

Similarly, teachers are also uneasy about the omission of the bell system.

“[Students] can’t get to class on time with bells!” said Mrs. Buchar, math teacher.
